The Project is proposed on a vacant, City owned parcel, adjacent to Eaton Blanche Park. The Project leverages its 10,294 acre upstream drainage area and proximity to Eaton Wash Channel to improve water quality for the Eaton Wash, the Rio Hondo and Los Angeles Rivers. The Project proposes underground stormwater infiltration and treatment components with above-ground improvements to create an inclusive, multi-benefit passive park space. Proposed aboveground amenities include bioswales and other stormwater features, shaded gathering areas, walking paths, outdoor classrooms, demonstration and community gardens, a dog park, and interpretive signage highlighting the site's history.
The Project is led by the City's Department of Public Works and has been developed in collaboration with Pasadena residents and stakeholders through ongoing outreach and engagement efforts.
