Emergency Repairs on Ben Hur Road

Mariposa County is moving forward with $1 million in emergency repairs to a damaged section of Ben Hur Road located approximately 11.1 miles south of Route 49 (Lat: 37.331833°, Long: 119.966904°). The roadway has suffered cumulative damage from major flood events in 2022 and 2023.

The County is entering into an emergency contract for immediate repair to prevent the potential loss of the road and to protect continued access for residents in the County.

What to Expect

  • Construction Begins: Monday, June 9, 2025

  • Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding weekends and holidays

  • Traffic Delays: Expect 15-25 minute delays due to single-lane traffic control

  • Project Duration: Estimated 4-6 weeks
