City Council adopts new ordinance for Short-Term Rentals (STRs)

After a year-long process of developing new regulations, the City Council adopted a new Short-Term Rentals (STR) Ordinance on July 1, 2025 (Ord. No. 2025-06) which now requires all STRs to apply for an annual license and comply with requirements for occupancy, parking, fire protection, fees, and inspections.

Any existing STRs that want to continue operating in Azle will need to apply for a License and Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) form with the City by October 1, 2025. After October 1, 2025, any operating STRs with no license by the City will be required to cease operations and apply for a Specific Use Permit (SUP), to be approved by the City Council, to operate in Azle.

If you are a STR in Azle, please click here for the STR webpage to access the new STR Ordinance for the new regulations, License application (fee is $500 per license) and the Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) form to be filled out and returned to the City.
