Rep. Watson Coleman Votes Against Wasteful Budget Reconciliation Resolution

Today, Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ-12), a member of the House Budget Committee, voted against a bad Republican budget bill (H. Con. Res. 113) that would use taxpayer dollars to pay for the Trump administration's mistakes abroad while also investing in new ways to disenfranchise voters. The budget resolution would funnel another $73 billion into Trump's War in Iran, $12 billion for farm assistance largely needed because of President Trump's reckless tariff agenda and war of choice, and $10 billion to incentivize states to implement SAVE America Act policies.

Today, I voted against the terrible Republican budget bill. Instead of passing policies to lower costs for Americans, Congressional Republicans are starting their third reconciliation process to use taxpayers' money to pay for the Administration's foolish mistakes abroad and downright un-American attempts at voter suppression here at home. This is not what the American people are calling for and Republican leadership should be ashamed to put this on the floor before leaving Washington for five weeks.
