Student Dental Insurance

UT Health Sciences has contracted with Delta Dental insurance for student dental insurance. Coverage is optional for students and their dependents. For students electing to purchase dental insurance, the dental insurance enrollment period will begin on July 1, 2026, and end on September 1, 2026. (View the benefits summary and rates.) Students who are interested in the optional dental insurance, please complete the enrollment form and email it to [email protected] before September 1, 2026.

If you were previously enrolled and would like to keep your coverage, no need to do anything. However, if you would like to cancel or make any changes to your current coverage, please email [email protected] before September 1, 2026.

FAQ

Is dental insurance required?

-No, you are only required to have the student health insurance coverage or your own health insurance coverage.

How do I pay for the insurance?

-Like the student health insurance, the students' dental premiums will be assessed in their Banner accounts along with their tuition and fees at the beginning of the semester.

Do I need to renew every year?

-No, it automatically renews unless you complete a form to cancel coverage. If you cancel coverage after the enrollment period, you will not be allowed to re-enroll for 12 months.

Can I cancel at any time?

-It's best to cancel during open enrollment period, which begins July 1, 2026 and ends September 1, 2026.
