Answering the Call After Winter Storm Fern

Winter Storm Fern tested communities across AEP's service territory, bringing freezing temperatures, ice and snow that damaged power infrastructure and disrupted daily life. In response, our teams mobilized quickly - working around the clock to restore service.

Thousands of employees, joined by mutual assistance crews from across the country, collaborated across our 11-state system to assess damage, clear hazards and repair critical equipment. From advanced aerial inspections to hands-on restoration work in difficult conditions, every effort was focused on one priority: helping customers get their power back.
