The SGMC Health Foundation announces a generous donation from the Stalvey family, owners of Ace Electric, Inc., in support of its Women & Infants Center. In recognition of this gift, the center will be named the Stalvey Women & Infants Center, a lasting tribute to the family's commitment to advancing healthcare for generations to come.

The brand new Women & Infants Center will provide specialized care during the earliest stages of life and motherhood, ensuring the safest and most nurturing environment for mothers and newborns. The facility will feature state-of-the-art equipment alongside dedicated professionals for prenatal, neonatal, and postnatal care.

"We are deeply grateful to the Stalvey family for their gift," said Ronald E. Dean, President & Chief Executive Officer. "The Stalveys' generosity will impact mothers, babies, and family members who call on us for care in this building for decades to come."

This contribution marks a significant milestone in SGMC Health Foundation's Groundbreaking Growth capital campaign, which has now raised more than $18 million toward its ambitious vision of transforming healthcare across South Georgia.

Guided by five strategic pillars-Access, Services, Medicine, Continuous Care, and Vision-the campaign reflects SGMC Health's unwavering commitment to improving health outcomes and redefining wellness for the nearly 400,000 individuals the health system serves each year. These pillars will support life-changing projects, including enhanced emergency and trauma care, expanded maternal and infant health services, greater access to specialty clinics, and strengthened rural healthcare across the region.

At the heart of this vision is a transformative expansion of SGMC Health's main campus in Valdosta, which is actively underway. The project includes:

  • A new Emergency Department and Trauma Center
  • A state-of-the-art Women & Infants Center
  • A welcoming Wellness Park for health, connection, and community engagement

All are expected to be complete in late 2026. Additional investments will strengthen continuous care programs, expand partnerships with Mercer University School of Medicine, and fund scholarships to inspire the next generation of healthcare providers.

"Our family is proud to partner with SGMC Health in its journey to advance access to healthcare across South Georgia," said the Stalvey family. "We feel SGMC Health and its leadership's commitment align perfectly with the values of our family and company. This gift allows us to celebrate and support an invaluable community asset for our current Ace family and generations to come."

The SGMC Health Foundation invites individuals, families, businesses, and philanthropic partners to join its historic capital campaign. Every contribution, whether large or small, advances the mission of building a healthier, stronger South Georgia.
