What’s new in 2026 dining trends?
The 2026 steakhouse: Big, big energy. Yelp searches for “steak near me ” have increased 59% over the last year alone and hit an all-time high in August 2026.* 1587 Prime (#6), for one, is channeling high-energy Kansas City sports fandom into a luxe steakhouse with prime beef, Japanese A5 Wagyu, live music, and a martini cart. Reno’s Toro Bravo (#11) delivers high-voltage vibes pairing steakhouse cuts with Latin-inspired sides, handmade tortillas, and elevated dishes like Ancho Chile–Rubbed New York Steak with bone marrow butter.
Yelp called it: Indian cuisine in the spotlight. Yelp’s 2026 Trend Forecast predicted high demand for new-wave Indian cuisine, with searches for “Indian bowls” up 135% and “Indian food buffet near me” rising a whopping 459% (comparing Sept. 2024–Aug. 2025 to the previous 12-month period).** At New York’s Ambassadors Clubhouse (#10), the Sethi siblings bring the opulence of Punjabi royal kitchens and energy of North Indian street food to NoMad (Yelpers have been eagerly awaiting it, too, with searches for the restaurant up 8,214%).** In Menlo Park, Eylan (#4) infuses Cal-Indian cooking with seasonal produce, wood-fired proteins, and clever takes on traditional breads.
Brunch: This year’s top dining destination. Yelp’s Top Foodie Cities reveals that “breakfast and brunch” is the most searched restaurant cuisine in every big food-loving city — and several of these new spots are meeting that demand. Las Vegas’ Bar Boheme (#7), for instance, serves a wildly popular French brasserie brunch, while Washington, D.C.’s Lobby Bar (#18) brings playful, cocktail-forward energy to weekend brunching near Capitol Hill.

The immersive safari-themed decor — with leopard prints, dramatic lighting, lush greenery, and stuffed exotic animals — creates a “sexy, dark and moody< /a>”ambiance. “There are Asian, Mexican, and tropical influences, but it’s all focused around the wood fire pit,” Myers tells Yelp. “It’s a primal style of cooking.” Must-try starters include “pillowy soft ” Milk Bread with miso tomato butter; Tuna Pineapple Ceviche with plantain chips; and beef tartare studded with grill-smoked ingredients. Yelpers say: “This place is absolutely gorgeous, [and] the flavor on everything was top tier! Do not play with that Tomahawk if you do not have a big appetite or room to share. You can easily split that thing between three greedy people or four sane folks. The macaroni tastes like someone’s Southern granny made it, and the broccolini is seasoned to perfection. Great place for a date night or time with family and friends!” —Yelp Elite Chinyere U.
This Italian restaurant offers farm-to-fork Tuscan flavors in a chic, dark-wood farmhouse with plush seating, a fireplace, and cozy plaid prints. Opened by Titan Hospitality Group (also behind Blackwall Barn and Lodge, Blackwall Hitch, The Lodge, The Farmhouse, and Smashing Grapes), it specializes in rustic dishes; fresh, housemade pastas; and hand-tossed pizzas, along with a curated wine list and signature cocktails. Yelpers give high-fives for the Short Rib Pappardelle, Crab a la Vodka, and the Holler pizza (made with smoked pepperoni, spicy Italian sausage, Farmhouse bacon, hot honey drizzle) — which Yelp Elite Robert B. describes as “crispy meats soaked in maple syrup.”
The Farmhouse Tuscan also has a “phenomenal” Sunday brunch buffet (complete with a country-fried chicken and waffle station), a Monday–Thursday Harvest Happy Hour, specials like a Pasta and Wine night, and live music Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
Insider tip: Order takeout or delivery for The Farmhouse Tuscan via Yelp.
Yelpers say: “The ambience was cozy perfection. I chose the Crab a la Vodka with handmade pasta and ordered an Italian Wine White Flight. It’s been many years since a restaurant has highly impressed me as much as this restaurant has. Out of all the restaurants we went to in Alexandria, this is the restaurant I would choose to visit again for special occasions, entertaining guests, and date nights.” —Yelp Elite All-Star Ophelia B. Hailing from Ballater, Scotland (where it won a Michelin Bib Gourmand), this upscale bar and restaurant has opened its first U.S. location with a similar focus on responsibly sourced seafood. With views of the Washington Channel and marina, the U.S. outpost celebrates Chesapeake Bay fishing communities and their traditions. The menu offers a variety of shellfish — including Chesapeake-sourced Maryland blue crabs when in season — as well as day-boat fish from the Potomac River and surrounding mid-Atlantic area (plus meat and vegetables from local farms). In addition to regular a la carte lunch and dinner menus, there’s a two-course weekday pre-show menu (for the nearby Anthem concert hall or Arena Stage Performing Arts Center), a two- or three-course (your choice) lunch prix-fixe, or a four-course Chef’s Menu (chef’s choice). Yelper favorites include an “incredibly good” lobster roll; a Maryland Crab Crumpet (a “tasty little bite” that nods to both Chesapeake Bay and Scotland); a popular Massaman Curry made with white fish, fragrant herbs, and housemade roti; and a Peanut Tiramisu made with candied Virginia peanuts.
There’s also a Gilded Hour (happy hour) on the waterfront patio, seasonal events like Crab Fest and Sip & Shuck, and a weekend brunch complete with a seafood boil and raw bar.
Insider tip: Book a table at Fish Shop via Yelp.
Yelpers say: “One of our fave dishes was the Tilefish Kinilaw, a ceviche-adjacent blend of chopped light white [tilefish] and red onion, blended in coconut broth. It was served with lettuce cups, an interesting vessel for the fish-yumminess. The entree (we shared) was the Massaman Curry with fresh herbs, house-made grilled roti, and an interesting naan-like bread that proved a great vessel for scooping up the decadent curry gravy.” —Yelp Elite Trish T.
In the heart of Marietta Square, this Italian restaurant and cocktail bar offers wood-fired pizzas, handmade pasta, and signature cocktails in a fresh, modern space. Chef and co-owner Gianni Betti, who originally hails from Italy and runs Cibo e Beve in Atlanta, partnered up with Atlanta-based restaurateur Randy “Mac” McCray to bring his recipes here — like the “A+” Carbonara with guanciale and even his grandmother’s Pappardelle Bolognese. Food here is interactive: There’s a viral giant cheese wheel, in which cacio e pepe is prepared tableside. And in the front of the restaurant, visit the long charcuterie bar “with incredible flavors,” where you can sit and choose from a selection of imported cheeses, meats, and seasonal accompaniments. You can enjoy your board there at the bar (on plush, high-backed chairs), take it back to your table, or have it boxed to go if you’re on your way to a picnic or concert in the square.
Yelpers say: “Highlights (aka what you should immediately order)… Appetizer: The arancini — run, don’t walk. And please, for the love of carbs, dunk that warm bread in the sauce. You’re welcome. Mains: Chicken Parm that could start a fan club, Marsala that made us emotional, Penne Vodka that brought joy to our souls, and Branzino that was fancy and flaky. Dessert: The tiramisu? Let’s just say it’s not ‘to die for’… it’s ‘to fake your own death and come back for seconds’ good.” —Yelp Elite Mollisa S.
This brightly designed newcomer brings a little bit of Palm Springs to Pittsburgh. Owners Herky and Lisa Pollock designed the space with midcentury modern furniture, blonde woods, gold and brass accents — and, of course, murals of palm trees — to make guests feel as if they were in a Slim Aarons photo depicting the elegance and ease of 1950s-era California desert living.
The Pollacks joined with chefs Edwin and Amanda Smith (they all run Ritual House) to whip up a menu that focuses on shareable small plates. Hits include Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup Dumplings, served on four appetizer spoons. (“easily our favorite bite,” says Yelper Stuart H.) and Truffle Spaghettios in parmesan cream, which Yelp Elite Kristina W. calls a “very grown-up, crave-worthy take on a childhood classic.” There are large plates too, including the “10/10” Korean Fried Chicken.
This hotspot also has gluten-free and vegan/vegetarian menus, a happy hour, craft cocktails, and a very popular brunch.
Yelpers say: “From the moment we walked in, the vibe was on point, super hip, cool energy, and just the right balance of upscale without being stuffy. Food-wise? No misses. I went with the Prime Filet, which was spot-on: excellent cut, perfectly cooked. We also shared the Wagyu Meatballs, and honestly, those alone are worth coming back for! This is the kind of restaurant you recommend without hesitation and keep in your regular rotation.” —Yelp Elite Craig S.

Popular desserts include the Sky High Citrus Meringue Pie, which Yelper Samica C. says “will blow away your tastebuds!”
The Chapman also hosts a popular weekend brunch, weekday happy hour, and seasonal specials.
Yelpers say: “Beautiful atmosphere, perfectly crafted cocktails, and a table full of delicious dishes — but those crab cakes absolutely stole the show: flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and worth coming back for all on their own. From the first bite to cocktails and dessert, this was the kind of dinner you don’t rush. Definitely adding The Chapman to my favorites.” —Yelp Elite Regina M.
