Shaping CSR Europe’s Positioning with the Renewed EU Institutions

  • CSR Europe members and associated members are invited to the Public Affairs & CSO Meeting on 4 March in Brussels.

  • Participants will learn about the European Commission's 2024-2029 action plan and contribute to shaping the network's approach to building a Sustainable and Competitive Europe with policymakers.

On March 4, CSR Europe members and associated members are invited to the Annual Public Affairs and CSO Meeting in Brussels to kick off the dialogue with European policymakers.

Corporate members, NPOs, and Associated Members will play a key role in shaping CSR Europe's position as a vital partner for the new EU institutions.

Building on the European CSO Network's first Discussion Paper and the outcomes of the December meeting with the European Commission, the event will lay the groundwork for developing and prioritising practical solutions to:

  1. Make EU sustainability regulations and their implementation more workable in light of the upcoming Omnibus simplification package.

  2. Effectively link sustainability and competitiveness, in alignment with European policies on clean industry, circularity, trade, taxation, and public procurement.

As the European Union enters a new legislative period (2024-2029) with distinct political priorities, there is a clear need for a more balanced, proportionate, and pragmatic approach to sustainability policies, one that effectively links sustainability and competitiveness.

The European Commission's focus on "making Europe simpler and faster" by aligning policy implementation with real-world experiences presents a crucial opportunity for CSR Europe and its members to contribute to this goal. By integrating sustainability with innovation and value creation, the network of corporate members, National Partner Organisations and Associated Members can assist the Commission in navigating current challenges while driving better business outcomes for a more sustainable and resilient society.
