3 A.M. Surrender vs. Standing Strong: Senate Fumbles While House Republicans Fully Fund DHS and Put Americans First
The Senate didn't just stumble here-it folded. In the dead of night, with no recorded vote and no accountability, Senate leaders rammed through a horrible deal that gutted funding from core immigration enforcement, handing Democrats their opening demand after weeks of empty posturing. Instead of standing firm, they set a dangerous precedent: shut down DHS long enough, and enforcement gets sacrificed. While Senate Republicans preached about protecting institutions, they quietly bent every meaningful norm to avoid a real fight with Senate Democrats-and left ICE and CBP operating in limbo.
House Republicans took the opposite approach. For the fourth time, we acted decisively to fully fund the Department of Homeland Security-ensuring border agents, TSA officers, and frontline personnel are paid, equipped, and able to do their jobs. At a moment of heightened threats and real-world consequences from open-border policies, the House chose clarity over chaos: fund the mission, secure the country, and put the safety of American citizens ahead of political games and the interests of illegal immigrants-including violent offenders.
The contrast couldn't be sharper. Senators delivered uncertainty, backroom deals, and a win for leftists like Chuck Schumer pushing for open borders, weakened law enforcement and protecting illegal aliens. House Republicans delivered results-fully reopening DHS, restoring stability, and making clear that protecting Americans comes first.
And now, after that 3 AM cave, senators jetted off for a two-week getaway. It's time to park the jets, get back to Washington, D.C., and actually finish the job they bailed on.
Gosar Backs Duplication Scoring Act to Crack Down on Wasteful Washington Spending
This week, I cosponsored bipartisan legislationto root out government waste and restore accountability in Washington, D.C. The Duplication Scoring Act, introduced by Representatives Burchett and Stansbury, would require the Government Accountability Office to review proposed legislation for duplicative federal programs and share those findings publicly through the Congressional Budget Office.
From my perspective, this is a commonsense step toward exposing bloated bureaucracy and ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly-not wasted on overlapping, redundant programs. With the national debt soaring, the legislation brings much-needed transparency to the legislative process and forces Congress to confront inefficiencies head-on. In short, it's about cutting waste, restoring fiscal discipline, and putting taxpayers-not Washington excess-first.
Gosar Applauds Trump Administration for Securing Release of Arizona-Tied American Held by Taliban
I am very heartened by the successful release this weekof an American with Arizona ties who had been detained by the Taliban for more than a year. Dennis Coyle had been held in Afghanistan since early 2025 before being freed and reunited with his family, prompting relief and gratitude from loved ones and leaders alike. This long-overdue release is a testament to strong leadership and a renewed commitment to bringing Americans home. I commend the Trump administration for prioritizing the safety of U.S. citizens abroad and working to secure the freedom of those wrongfully detained. No American should be left behind in hostile territory and this outcome sends a clear message: the United States will not rest until its citizens are safely returned home.
New Study Raises Alarming Questions About COVID Vaccine Policies for Children
A newly released large-scale studyexamining more than one million children is raising serious questions about the safety of COVID-19 vaccines for young people. Researchers from top institutions found that cases of heart inflammation appeared only among COVID-19 vaccinated children, with none recorded in comparable unvaccinated groups-undercutting years of sweeping assurances from public health officials.
That matters because Americans were not simply advised-they were pressured. Under the leadership of Anthony Fauci and Joe Biden, the federal government pushed an aggressive, one-size-fits-all vaccination campaign that ignored individual risk, sidelined dissenting voices, and in many cases coerced compliance through mandates tied to jobs, education, and daily life.
For years, concerned parents were dismissed as fringe or irresponsible. Now, evidence continues to emerge that raises legitimate concerns about those very policies. Congress must demand accountability and ensure that no administration ever again uses heavy-handed tactics to force medical decisions on the American people-especially when it comes to our children.
Tragedy Fueled by Democrats' Failed Border and Crime Policies
The heartbreaking murder of 18-year-old Loyola University Chicago student Sheridan Gormanis not just a random act of violence-it is the predictable result of reckless policies stemming from the previous administration and embraced by soft-on-crime leftists. The suspect, a Venezuelan national who entered the country illegally, was encountered at the border in 2023 and released under the Biden administration's catch-and-release agenda-only to later commit additional crimes and ultimately be charged with murder.
This is what happens when leadership fails. Under Joe Biden, border security was dismantled, illegal crossings surged, and dangerous individuals were released into American communities instead of being detained and deported. At the same time, sanctuary city policies in places like Chicago protect criminals from meaningful consequences, while soft-on-crime prosecutors allow repeat offenders to cycle back onto the streets.
In stark contrast, President Trump has prioritized securing the border, enforcing immigration laws, and deporting those who entered our country illegally - sending a clear message that the United States will not tolerate unlawful entry or the release of criminals who pose a risk to our communities.
This tragedy should have been prevented. Instead, it stands as a devastating reminder of the human cost of open-border policies and a justice system that too often prioritizes liberal ideology over public safety. And now, the same Democrats who enabled these failures are willing to play games by refusing to fund the Department of Homeland Security-proving once again that their priorities lie with political agendas and criminal leniency, not the safety and security of the American people.
