Join the BART Mural Project Community Forum on Saturday, January 10, 2026!

UNION CITY, CA, December 11, 2025 - The City of Union City invites all residents to join a BART Mural Project Community Forum on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM at the Kennedy Youth Center (1333 Decoto Road, Union City, CA 94587).

The BART Mural Project will place murals on up to nine of the BART pillars in the Decoto community - alongside Kennedy Park and to the BART station. This meeting offers an opportunity to bring community members together to co-create the project's vision and theme that reflects the history, assets, and strengths of the Decoto community. In addition, Union City staff will share a summary report from the nearly 500 community members that provided stories, ideas, and vision for the murals through a citywide survey, the September 11, 2025 Community Forum, and Arts and Culture Commission and City Council meetings.

The Community Forum is open to the public, and advance registration is not needed.

The Community Forum will be one of many other engagement opportunities that will be scheduled throughout the design and installation period of the project from now through March 2027. All community engagement activities and events will be shared through the City's social media, in person, and on the City Website.
