National Youth Violence Prevention Week is taking place April 28-May 2, 2025. The following activities are happening in Portland:
You're invited to join a team and play alongside youth in a friendly tournament full of community spirit, pizza, prizes, and positive vibes. This is an opportunity to connect directly with young people and show up in a meaningful and memorable way.
Private event for this Girl Scouts Troop, learning Self-Defense and other safety building skills from our Rose City Self-Defense team.
At this event, we will be meeting on the field of the school to kick off our community clean up. Hosted by Torch of Hope, we are offering an opportunity to help beautify the community and to connect with folks from the neighborhood, while also earning some community service hours (for students). At this event, you'll be paired with a couple of youths to take on a team-style workout challenge. There will be CrossFit circuits, family volleyball, food, and fun activities for kids, all with a focus on wellness, resilience, and community bonding.
This event is open to high schoolers from the following school districts: Portland Public Schools, David Douglas, Reynolds, Parkrose, and Centennial School Districts.
