I-85 at SR 42/North Druid Hills Road Traffic Impact Report

WHAT: Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation contractors will close lanes around Interstate 85 at State Route (SR) 42/North Druid Hills Road for construction activities.

*NOTES: Work schedule updates can be made daily. Check project web page often for the latest updates. Detour information is shown using redtext.
WHEN/WHERE: Traffic Impacts on I-85 and SR 42 from September 26, through October 4, 2025

Continuous Weekend Closures: (Friday, September 26, 9 p.m. through Sunday, September 28, 9 p.m.)
  • Two right/left lanes on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound and westbound at I-85
Daytime Closures:

Monday, September 29, through Friday, October 3, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • One, right lane on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound and westbound from Briarcliff Road to Buford highway
Overnight Closures:

Friday, September 26, through Sunday, September 28, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Various lanes on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound and westbound at I-85
Closures & Detours:

SR 42/North Druid Hills Road to I-85 southbound (Detour Map)
  • Motorists traveling on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound to I-85 southbound should use I-85 northbound Frontage Road and Clairmont Road to access I-85 southbound.
  • Motorists traveling on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road westbound to I-85 southbound should use I-85 northbound Frontage Road and Clairmont Road to access I-85 southbound.
  • Motorists traveling on Corporate Drive to I-85 southbound should use I-85 southbound Frontage Road, SR 42/North Druid Hills Road, I-85 northbound Frontage Road, and Clairmont Road to access I-85 southbound.

  • Motorists traveling on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound to I-85 northbound should use I-85 northbound Frontage Road and Clairmont Road to access I-85 northbound.
  • Motorists traveling on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road westbound to I-85 northbound should use I-85 northbound Frontage Road and Clairmont Road to access I-85 northbound.

  • Various lanes on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound and westbound from Briarcliff Road to Buford highway
