Denton-Edmundson’s essay selected for Best American Non-Fiction anthology

Matthew Denton-Edmundson, a visiting assistant professor in the Creative Writing Program, will feature in the 2025 Best American Non-Fiction Anthology. This year's editor, Jia Tolentino, selected Denton-Edmundson's essay, "How to Love Animals," for the anthology.

Of the 2025 anthology, Kirkus Reviews called it, "A potent collection that speaks to dark times."

"The Best American series, launched in 1915, is the premier annual showcase for the country's finest short fiction and nonfiction, and it is the most respected - and most popular - of its kind," according to the publisher's website.

Denton-Edmundson teaches fiction classes. He served as a Stegner Fellow at Stanford University.
