REVISED PROJECT INFORMATION: JACKSON COUNTY - The Missouri Department of Transportation will conduct various lane closures on westbound and eastbound U.S. Highway 24 just east of Wilson Ave. to just west of Sterling Ave. for safety and operational improvements. All work is weather permitting.
See below for traffic modifications:
Improvements include a 5-lane typical section with curb and gutter, enclosed drainage storm sewers, raised concrete islands, traffic signal improvements, and signing and pavement marking improvements. Additionally, a 10-foot multi-use path along the south side of the roadway with a 5-foot sidewalk along the north side of the roadway.
This is the third and final phase of the project. Phases 1 and 2 were let in combination in May 2023. Construction began in 2025, and the project is scheduled to be completed in December 2026.
