Gillibrand: No Blank Check For A Forever War In Iran

Today, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and the Senate Intelligence Committee, released the following statement on her planned vote to require congressional authorization for continued military action in Iran:

"The president should be focused on reducing costs for Americans, not abusing his power to drag America into another endless war.

"Americans do not want regime change wars that put our brave troops at risk and drive up prices right here at home.

"I will not give Donald Trump - who lacks both the constitutional authority and the judgment - a blank check at taxpayers' expense to engage in a forever war that puts Americans in harm's way with no objective, no plan, and no exit strategy."
