Desert Sky Park to Temporarily Close This Summer for Phase 2 Construction

Gilbert, Ariz. - As construction continues on Desert Sky Park Phase 2, the park will temporarily close from Tuesday, May 26, through Friday, September 4, 2026, to allow crews to complete major construction activities safely and efficiently.

The planned summer closure was intentionally scheduled during the hottest months of the year, when park usage is typically lower, to help minimize impacts to the community while accelerating progress on the next phase of the project.

Desert Sky Park Phase 2 will add 50 new acres of recreation space and amenities to the existing park, including:

• Five multi-use fields
• A splash pad with inclusive play features
• Two inclusive playgrounds
• Eight pickleball courts with a shade pavilion
• Sand volleyball courts
• Tennis and basketball courts
• A dog run
• Expanded parking and additional park access points
