TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - The Cherokee Nation will celebrate Cherokee veterans during the tribe's inaugural Cherokee Veterans Summit, which will host meetings in Roland and Vinita this month.
The Southern Region Veterans Summit will be Nov. 12 at Cherokee Casino and Hotel Roland from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. During the event, Cherokee veterans will have an opportunity to hear from Cherokee leaders including Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr., Deputy Chief Bryan Warner, and members of the Council of the Cherokee Nation.
Cherokee veterans will also have an opportunity to fellowship with other veterans and visit a variety of booths and activities hosted by Cherokee Nation departments that support and provide resources to veterans, including the Office of Veterans Affairs.
The Northern Region Veterans Summit will be Nov. 19 in Vinita at the Craig County Fairgrounds from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
