As part of the new features, public service managers with Section 34 delegation can now submit some types of leave requests directly into the Human Resources Management System (HRMS) on behalf of their employees.

This can be helpful in situations where an employee is unexpectedly or continuously absent and unable to access HRMS themselves, such as during extended sick leave. In these cases, managers can:

  • Ensure sick leave credits are used prior to an employee applying for disability or long-term disability insurance.
  • Record compensatory time earned subject to the relevant collective agreement.
