IT Park Uzbekistan expands strategic partnerships in Hong Kong to accelerate technology exports and international collaboration

On July 13, as part of a working visit to Hong Kong, the IT Park Uzbekistan delegation held a series of meetings with leading technology companies, industry associations and development institutions aimed at expanding international cooperation, promoting startups, IT companies in Asian markets and attracting new partners to the ecosystem of Uzbekistan.

An important part of the visit was negotiations with the leadership of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, headed by Sophia Chong, Executive director of the organization. HKTDC is one of Hong Kong's key international trade development organizations, supporting start-ups and small businesses to enter global markets.

During the presentation, IT Park Uzbekistan also presented to international partners the Enterprise Uzbekistan initiative, a new platform aimed at creating a legal environment in Uzbekistan based on the principles of English common law for technology and service companies. The initiative is designed to provide international investors and businesses, including companies from Hong Kong, with familiar legal mechanisms, a high level of investment protection and comfortable conditions for doing business.

During the meeting, the parties agreed on further development of cooperation, including the participation of Hong Kong companies in ICT Week Uzbekistan, as well as consideration of opportunities for coordinating interaction within the Belt and Road Summit, and participation at InnoEX 2027. In addition, the parties discussed the expansion of start-up support programs, business missions and initiatives for the international promotion of Uzbek technology companies through the global HKTDC network. The possibility of organizing a visit to Uzbekistan for a delegation of representatives of the legal and professional community of Hong Kong was also considered.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their intention to take cooperation to a new level, focusing on the implementation of joint projects, the development of investment interaction, support for innovative entrepreneurship and expanding the international presence of the technological ecosystem of Uzbekistan.

Also, one of the key events of the visit was a meeting with representatives of the Hong Kong business community, organized with the support of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) a meeting was held with representatives of the Hong Kong business community. Representatives of the HK Fintech Association, Gobi Partners, The University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong PropTech Association (HKPTA), Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and other organizations took part in the discussion. The parties exchanged experience in the development of innovation ecosystems, discussed prospects for cooperation in the fields of fintech, venture investments, artificial intelligence, PropTech and commercialization of university developments, as well as the possibility of Uzbek startups entering Asian markets.

At the same time, the delegation of IT Park Uzbekistan held negotiations with Gameloft, one of the world's leading developers and publishers of mobile games, part of the Vivendi group. The company, which has more than 4,000 employees and over 50 released gaming projects, expressed its readiness to discuss the possibilities of licensing its gaming IP and cooperation with IT Park in promoting gaming products in the CIS markets. The parties reviewed the prospects for licensing game franchises and the terms of publishing cooperation.

Particular attention was paid to the meeting with HKBN Enterprise Solutions, during which the prospects for implementing solutions based on artificial intelligence for small and medium-sized businesses, automating business processes, digital interaction with customers, increasing enterprise productivity and integrating cybersecurity solutions were discussed.

The meeting confirmed the mutual interest of the parties in creating a practical cooperation mechanism that will connect the technological ecosystems of Uzbekistan, Hong Kong, mainland China and Central Asian countries.

A series of meetings in Hong Kong became an important step in strengthening IT Park Uzbekistan's partnerships with leading players in the Asian technology market and creating new opportunities for exporting digital solutions, attracting investments and integrating Uzbek companies into the global innovation ecosystem.
