IRVINE, Calif. - SBC Medical Group Holdings Incorporated (Nasdaq: SBC) ("SBC Medical" or the "Company"), a Medical Services Organization providing management support across a wide range of healthcare fields, today announced the results of a survey on trends in male aesthetic healthcare. The findings reveal that the number of male customers in their 40s and 50s at clinics supported by SBC Medical has increased approximately 4.5-fold over the past decade, and that treatment preferences differ markedly between age groups - with younger customers gravitating toward skin quality improvement, while those in their 40s and 50s show stronger interest in anti-aging care.
In recent years, with medical hair removal as a common entry point, demand for aesthetic healthcare among men has continued to grow. Surveys indicate a trend in which men in their 20s are accessing aesthetic healthcare at rates that now rival women - a significant shift from the traditional perception that aesthetic healthcare is primarily for women. This trend extends well beyond younger generations. The number of male customers in their 40s and 50s at Shonan Beauty Clinic and other clinics supported by SBC Medical has grown approximately 4.5-fold over the past ten years, underscoring how aesthetic healthcare has become an increasingly natural choice for men across all age groups.
● Approximately 4.5x Growth in Male Customers in Their 40s and 50s
The number of male customers in their 40s and 50s at clinics supported by SBC Medical grew approximately 4.5-fold from 2016 to 2025. Aesthetic healthcare is increasingly seen not as something for the young alone, but as a practical option for middle-aged men seeking to maintain their health and appearance. (See chart below)
● Top Treatment Categories by Generation
A comparison of the top 10 most popular treatments among male customers in their 20s versus those in their 40s and 50s revealed that the top three are shared across both age groups: Laser Hair Removal, Hair Loss Treatment (AGA), and Botox Injections - indicating consistent baseline demand regardless of age. Skin-conditioning treatments such as Chemical Peeling and Electroporation (Ion Infusion) also appeared in both rankings.
Beyond these shared preferences, clear generational differences emerge from rank four onward. Customers in their 20s gravitate toward skin quality and acne-related treatments - such as microneedling, acne light therapy, and targeted acne medication - reflecting a focus on achieving clearer, healthier skin. Those in their 40s and 50s, by contrast, show stronger demand for anti-aging and rejuvenation treatments, including laser pigmentation removal, non-surgical lifting (HIFU), and body contouring - concerns closely tied to the visible changes that come with age.
This generational shift reflects a broader cultural change, particularly among business professionals post-COVID. Aesthetic healthcare is increasingly seen not as a way to dramatically alter one's appearance, but as a means of restoring one's natural vitality - a perspective now resonating strongly with middle-aged male customers.
● Navigating Anti-Aging Treatment: A Highly Personal Decision
While demand for minimally invasive aesthetic treatments continues to grow, anti-aging care is a field where individual needs vary enormously - shaped by each customer's skin condition, lifestyle, and goals. Options range widely, from non-surgical skin-tightening and rejuvenation procedures to minimally invasive surgical techniques, each suited to different underlying causes and desired outcomes.
In an era where social media and online reviews make information readily accessible, it is more important than ever to look beyond surface-level content. Rather than selecting a treatment based on trends alone, consulting directly with a specialist to understand what is actually driving your concerns - and what approach is genuinely best suited to your situation - is key to achieving results you will be satisfied with.
● Comment from Dr. Shoko Takahashi, Shonan Beauty Clinic Shinjuku
"Many of our customers in their 40s and 50s express a desire to maintain a youthful, healthy appearance while aging gracefully, and to project a sense of care and polish in the way they present themselves. How and where signs of aging appear, the pace at which they develop, recovery time considerations, and budget - all of these vary from person to person, as do the options available to them."
"What I have come to appreciate through working across both cosmetic surgery and aesthetic dermatology is that even when two customers present with the same concern, the most appropriate treatment can be entirely different depending on the underlying cause. Rather than making decisions based solely on visible symptoms, having a thorough conversation with a specialist to understand the root cause - and selecting the approach that is truly right for you at this stage of your life - is what leads to results you can feel genuinely satisfied with."
