New Jersey Treasury Encourages Residents to Apply for Property Tax Relief Programs
(TRENTON) - The New Jersey Treasury's Division of Taxation is urging eligible residents to apply for the State's property tax relief programs by the November 2, 2026 deadline.
Seniors aged 65 and older and disabled homeowners or mobile homeowners can apply for the ANCHOR, Senior Freeze, and Stay NJ property tax relief programs through the PAS-1 application. The PAS-1 replaced the former Senior Freeze and ANCHOR applications, meaning eligible taxpayers no longer need to file separate applications for these programs. The application also applies to New Jersey's newest property tax relief program, Stay NJ.
"The PAS-1 application allows seniors and disabled residents to apply for all of New Jersey's property tax relief programs at one time and makes the process as seamless as possible," said State Treasurer Aaron Binder. "We want to ensure that all eligible residents take advantage of these programs designed to make New Jersey a more affordable place to live."
Residents under the age of 65 who own or rent property in New Jersey can also benefit from property tax relief through the ANCHOR program by applying via the ANC-1 application.
Both the PAS-1 and ANC-1 forms can be found and submitted online at propertytaxreliefapp.nj.gov. The deadline to file both applications is November 2, 2026.
