CTDOT Rehabilitation of Bridge Carrying Route 15 Over Pumpkin Ground Brook in Stratford

9/15/2026

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is developing plans for the Rehabilitation of Bridge No. 00758 Carrying Route 15 over Pumpkin Ground Brook in Stratford.

The proposed improvements include concrete repairs of the culvert, headwalls and wingwalls, stabilizing the channel and embankments, debris removal and channel restoration, backfilling the scour holes and eroded areas, and any other repairs deemed necessary.

The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed in April 2030, with construction anticipated to start in the fall of 2030, assuming acceptance of the project, availability of funding, and receipt of any required right-of-way and environmental permits. This project will be undertaken with 80% federal and 20% state funds.

It is CTDOT's policy to keep the public informed and involved when such projects are undertaken. It is important that the community shares its concerns with CTDOT to assist in the project's development. If there is adequate interest, a public information meeting will be conducted. If anyone has any questions or comments on this project, contact Gregory Funk, Principal Engineer, at (860) 594-3214 or by e-mail at [email protected]. Please refer to State Project No. 0138-0259.
