Free dyslexia screenings for kids at libraries and community centers

Literacy Roundup is a City of Fort Worth initiative in partnership with Go Beyond Grades and the Sid W. Richardson Foundation that provides free dyslexia screenings for youth and resources for parents and caretakers.

Starting this month, Literacy Roundup 2026 will hold free dyslexia screenings in five City of Fort Worth libraries and 13 community centers.

The community center screenings will be available during this summer's Camp Fort Worth, June 8-July 31. Each camper will participate in a research-based reading curriculum with 45 minutes of intentional and measurable instruction based on best practices provided by a trained literacy support specialist.

In 2025, Literacy Roundup screened about 400 students for dyslexia at select libraries and community centers.
