TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - ICE announced financial awards to 287(g) partners in Florida Sept. 26, highlighting the program's success, its Florida partnerships and the benefits it provides in the public safety and national security realms.
"Florida state and local law enforcement agencies have demonstrated exceptional commitment as essential partners in ICE's 287(g) program," said ICE Deputy Director Madison D. Sheahan. "This partnership exemplifies the critical role collaboration plays in safeguarding our communities and ensuring the removal of the most dangerous individuals who threaten public safety. At a time when ICE officers and law enforcement personnel face unprecedented challenges and threats, these partnerships are more vital than ever to protect our neighborhoods and uphold the rule of law."
Sheahan also thanked Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, the Florida Highway Patrol and the Florida Sheriffs Association for helping enforce our nation's federally mandated immigration laws.
Florida has set the standard across the nation for 287(g) partnerships with 325 agreements in place - a 577% increase since Jan. 20, 2025.
ICE announced the following financial awards to 287(g) partners in Florida, with local partners receiving $10,005,665 and state-level partners receiving $28,570,240:

"Florida is proud to lead the nation on illegal immigration enforcement, acting as a force multiplier to assist President Trump in restoring our nation's sovereignty."
Thanks to President Donald J. Trump and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem's leadership and the One Big Beautiful Bill, 287(g) programs give back to local law enforcement and enable them to better support their local communities in keeping America safe.
