USI to host virtual Adult Learner Expo in celebration of Adult Education Day

The University of Southern Indiana is pleased to announce an Adult Learner Expo, a virtual event taking place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 11in honor of Adult Education Day, an Indiana celebration recognizing lifelong learning and educational advancement.

Hosted by USI Online and Adult Learning and the School of Graduate Studies, this event is designed to empower current and future adult learners by providing the tools and information needed to pursue higher education and achieve career goals. Whether considering degree completion, advancing education or exploring career development opportunities, the Adult Learner Expo will cover topics designed to reignite a passion for education.

The expo will cover the following:

  • Credit for Prior Learning: Discover how professional experience and previous coursework can count toward a degree
  • Degrees and Credentials: Explore the variety of programs USI offers
  • Funding Your Education: Learn about scholarships, grants and financial aid options
  • Some College, No Degree? No Problem!: Find out how to resume your studies and meet your goals
  • Graduate Degree Opportunities: Hear how advanced education can boost career opportunities
  • Navigating Online Education: Tips and tools for success in virtual learning environments
  • Position Yourself for Success: Strategies for earning that next promotion or landing your dream job

"Adult learners bring a wealth of experience and unique perspectives to the classroom, whether virtual or in-person," said Dr. Brian Crose, Director of Online and Adult Learning. "This expo is a celebration of their commitment to personal and professional growth, and we're proud to support their journey."

The event is planned to coordinate with Indiana's Adult Education Day at the Indiana Statehouse in Indianapolis. That gathering will highlight inspiring stories and recognize the contributions of adult learners across Indiana.
