WASHINGTON, February 2, 2026-The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) issued the following statement today applauding President Donald Trump's social media post stating that a trade agreement between the United States and India is within reach. For years, IDFA has been working with the United States government to support a positive agriculture trade relationship with India. As the United States continues its constructive discussions with the Indian government on a range of agricultural trade issues, IDFA remains supportive of improving the bilateral relationship, facilitating greater understanding of each country's needs, and concluding the negotiations.
"IDFA supports a stronger U.S.-India trade relationship and is grateful to President Trump and his Administration as well as the Government of India for working toward that common goal," said Michael Dykes, D.V.M., president and CEO of IDFA.
