Tactical Teams Responding to Report of Barricaded Suspect Armed With Knife in South Portland Neighborhood

Tactical teams are responding to a call of a man armed with a knife barricaded inside the basement of a residence in the 2400 block of Southwest 5th Avenue in the South Portland Neighborhood. The residents have been evacuated by police for safety. The Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) and the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) are on scene. Area streets around Southwest 5th Avenue and Southwest Caruthers Street are closed. The PIO is responding to the scene. Updates will be provided as appropriate.
