San José Mineta International Airport Launches Gateside by TSA PreCheck

San José, Calif. - Alaska Airlines is bringing back nonstop service between San José Mineta International Airport (SJC) and Paine Field Airport (PAE) in the Seattle area, with two daily flights starting in April 2027.

The restored service will give Silicon Valley travelers additional options for reaching the Seattle area, with flights departing throughout the day, and returns to SJC after a six-year hiatus.

"I am happy to welcome back nonstop service between San José and Paine Field," said San José City Manager Jennifer Maguire. "This service gives travelers more opportunities to fly to the Seattle area and beyond, while also enjoying the convenience of San José Mineta International Airport."

"We're thrilled to see Alaska Airlines increasing its operations at SJC, one of the most reliable airports in the nation," said San José Mayor Matt Mahan. "This service will give San José residents more options to visit family, conduct business and explore the Pacific Northwest, while also bringing more visitors to the Capital of Silicon Valley."

"We are pleased to welcome back nonstop service to Paine Field on Alaska Airlines," said SJC director of aviation Mookie Patel. "Nonstop connections between San José and the Seattle area provide passengers with the flexibility and choice they have come to expect from SJC."

The return of Alaska Airlines' Paine Field service, operated by Horizon Air, expands nonstop connectivity between the Bay Area and the north Puget Sound region and provides additional options for business and leisure travelers.

Tickets are available for purchase through Alaska Airlines.
