Lincoln Police Investigate Fatal Crash | 70th & L

The Lincoln Police Department (LPD) is investigating a fatal crash that occurred at the intersection of 70th and 'L' streets. Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash just after 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5. The preliminary investigation determined a 2020 black Nissan Kicks SUV driving north on 70th was attempting to turn left onto 'L' when it collided with a 2021 gray Ford Explorer SUV driving south on 70th. Witnesses on scene told LPD the Explorer was speeding and weaving in and out of traffic prior to the collision. The driver of the Nissan, a 75-year-old Lincoln man, passed away at the hospital and his passenger, a 74-year-old Lincoln woman, was treated at the hospital for serious injuries. The driver of the Explorer, a 24-year-old Lincoln man, was treated at the hospital for minor injuries. The identity of the deceased is not being released at this time pending family notification.
