Empowering Our People: Leadership Development Through the ARH Institute

Lexington, KY - Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) is investing in its people through the ARH Institute, an in-house leadership development initiative designed to strengthen leaders, support employee growth, and foster long-term engagement by providing employees with the tools, resources, and support they need to succeed.

The ARH Institute was created with a mission to enhance leadership skills, improve culture, and increase retention while developing resilient, trusted leaders who are committed to continuous growth and ARH's people-centered culture.

"The ARH Institute represents our commitment to developing leaders at every level, equipping them with the skills, confidence, and support they need to serve their teams, strengthen our culture, and advance our mission throughout Appalachia."

Through the Institute, employees have access to leadership development opportunities tailored to different stages of their careers. Its four primary areas of focus include new manager training, organizational development, departmental training, and executive leadership training. Together, these programs provide employees with practical tools, continued learning opportunities, and leadership development within the organization.

The Institute's new manager process demonstrates that commitment in action, providing new leaders with a structured journey that includes orientation, hands-on training, mentorship, and recognition as they grow into their roles.

By developing leaders from within, ARH is empowering employees to grow professionally while strengthening the teams and communities they serve. The Institute represents an intentional investment in ARH's workforce and the organization's long-term sustainability and growth throughout Appalachia.
