HACU’s 15th International Conference concludes with focus on Global Cooperation for Cyber Readiness and Workforce Resilience

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities' 15th International Conference concluded on May 6, 2026, with a plenary session "Global Cooperation for Cyber Readiness and Workforce Resilience."

The session examined how international collaboration strengthens cyber readiness and prepares a globally competitive workforce. Panelists discussed cross-border partnerships protecting critical digital systems, responses to emerging cybersecurity threats, and efforts to align education and workforce pipelines with global labor needs. They also highlighted how these efforts create local impact by expanding career pathways, building institutional capacity, and advancing economic mobility within Hispanic communities.

The session was moderated by Armen Babajanian, president and CEO of World Affairs Council of San Antonio, and featured panelists Cynthia Olivo, Ph.D., president of Fullerton College; Shahrzad Dowlatshahi, chief diplomacy & protocol officer head of global engagement for the City of San Antonio; and Tommy Calvert, Bexar County commissioner for Precinct 4, and Eduardo Bravo, 2026 Cybersecurity Council Chair, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Irys Technologies.
