By decision of the Deputy Minister of National Defence Thanasis Davakis, the financial support provided to pensioners who are victims of war is adjusted to five hundred (500) euro per beneficiary from the current two hundred and fifty (250) euro. The decision shall have retroactive effect as from 1stJanuary 2025 and concerns 1.725 beneficiaries of the War Victims and Invalids Assistance Fund.
The Deputy Minister of National Defence stated:
"The State has a duty to prove in practice its respect, support and gratitude to all those who paid the heavy price and suffered the consequences of the war, defending our Country.
A small token of this is the doubling of the benefits granted by the War Victims and Invalids Assistance Fund to its Members.
The Ministry of National Defence remains strongly committed to further strengthening social care and supporting all those who offered to and served the Country in self-denial".
