HONOLULU, Sept. 25, 2026 - Hawaiian Electric continues around-the-clock monitoring of Hurricane Nolo as the storm approaches the state and encourages customers to remain prepared for possible power outages as Nolo unleashes strong winds and heavy rain.

As of 3:30 p.m. today, there are no major outages on Hawaii Island, Maui County or Oahu. However, saturated ground conditions from recent rainfall continue to increase the risk of falling trees and vegetation-related damage to electrical equipment, even in areas not experiencing the strongest winds.

Customers should ensure emergency supplies are stocked, and phones and other essential devices are charged as they prepare for the possibility of extended outages from severe weather impacts.

Hawaiian Electric crews, contractors and support staff remain ready to respond as conditions allow. Should it be needed, additional resources are also ready to deploy through the Western Region Mutual Assistance Group, including line crews, support personnel and drone pilots who can assist with damage assessments and repairs.

Restoration efforts prioritize public safety, critical facilities and repairs that restore power to the greatest number of customers first.
