Falling ice closes Sidney Lanier Bridge in Brunswick


WHAT: Georgia DOT is closing the Sidney Lanier Bridge on SR 25 in Brunswick-Glynn County today due to large chunks of ice falling on to the roadway.

In the interest of public safety, the closure will remain in place until the ice has thawed and is not long a threat to motorists. Notice of the bridge reopening will be forthcoming.


WHEN: 3 p.m., Thursday, January 23 until further notice.


WHERE: Sidney Lanier Bridge on SR 25/US 17 in Brunswick-Glynn County.
