PHILADELPHIA - The Department of Streets invites the public to attend an in-person public meeting for the Swanson Street Reconstruction Project on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The meeting will take place at the 2300 Arena (2300 South Swanson Street, Philadelphia, PA 19148).
The meeting will provide an opportunity for community members to learn about project status and provide feedback on planned improvements. The meeting will follow an open-house format, allowing attendees to visit at their convenience during the scheduled time. No formal presentation will be given.
Project Overview
The Swanson Street Reconstruction Project seeks to improve safety and mobility for all roadway users, whether they choose to walk, bike, or drive. Currently, Swanson Street's aging infrastructure, deteriorated roadway and sidewalks, inconsistent traffic patterns, and unclear pavement markings can be confusing for drivers and uncomfortable for people walking or biking. Reconstructing the corridor between Oregon Avenue and Christopher Columbus Boulevard will include improvements for all modes of travel.
