UNC Health Southeastern honors employees for long-term service

UNC Health Southeastern hosted its annual Employee Service Awards Celebration on October 15, 2026, at the Carolina Civic Center Annex to honor teammates who have achieved milestone years of service in 2025 for 25 years or more in increments of 5 years.

"Thank you for your many years of dedicated service to UNC Health Southeastern," said UNC Health Southeastern President and CEO Chris Ellington. "Your commitment and contributions have helped strengthen our organization and the communities we serve. The dedication of our teammates through the years has made UNC Health Southeastern the organization it is today and laid the foundation for where we are going, including our future as a Level III Trauma Center. We are grateful for the time, talent and care you have given throughout your years of service. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!"

Teammates honored for 45 years of service were: Linda Ivey, Accountant I, Finance; James Jones, Supervisor, Engineering & Facility Management; Susan Locklear, Medical Technologist III, Laboratory; Claudette McCallum, EEG Technician, Neurophysiology Laboratory; and Beana "Lorraine" Lovette, Health Information Specialist, Health Information Management.

Forty-year teammates included Jeanie Bernicki, Manager, Laboratory; Gladys Hayes, Respiratory Therapist, Echocardiology; and Woodie-Lynn Nye, Care Management Assistant, Care Coordination.

Honorees with 35 years of service were Leah Byrd, Customer Service Representative, UNC Health Southeastern Home Medical Equipment; Eric Locklear, Director, Pharmacy; Tammy Lynch, Food Service Associate, Food & Nutrition Services; Shirlene Miles, Nursing Assistant I, 3 Rust Tower; Chandra Page, Central Scheduler, Cardiology; Walter Taylor, Phlebotomist, Laboratory; Tammy Von Taborsky, Lead Mammography Technician, Southeastern Radiology Associates; and Paula Wheeler, Revenue Cycle Project Specialist, Revenue Integrity.
