Grassley Holds Q&A with Iowa Hospitality Industry on the One Big Beautiful Bill's Pro-Worker Provisions: No Tax on Tips and No Tax on Overtime

POTTAWATTAMIE COUNTY, IOWA - U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) held a question-and-answer session with members of the Iowa Restaurant Association, the Iowa Hotel and Lodging Association and the Iowa Latino Hospitality Council on Tuesday. The group discussed how the One Big Beautiful Bill Act is benefiting Iowa workers through policies like no tax on tips or overtime pay.

"I had a great meeting with Iowa restaurant and hotel organizations today. It was encouraging to hear that the workers of Iowa know Senator Ernst and I are fighting for them by supporting the One Big Beautiful Bill and successfully eliminating taxes on tips and overtime," Grassley said. "These parts of the law are critical for working Iowans and will help those working in the hospitality industry take home more of their hard-earned pay."

"I had the pleasure of spending time with Senator Grassley today and discussing the One Big Beautiful Bill. One of the things that gets me really excited about this is what it does for Middle America." said Scott Math of Des Moines. "[For] our servers and wait staff - tipped employees all over - [having] no tax on tips will actually put good money back into their pockets, and it is exciting [for] our staff and anybody that I talk to, including [having] no tax on overtime. All these little pieces will make a big difference [for] working families in the state of Iowa."

"It was a good day today speaking with the Senator. The [One Big Beautiful Bill] is very exciting for some of my staff members. It felt like a real win for some of the small business owners and their employees," said Joe Disalvo of Council Bluffs.
