The President will attend the European Council and European Political Community meetings in Copenhagen

On October 1-2, President Gitanas Nausėda will take part in an informal meeting of the European Council (EC) and the European Political Community (EPC) in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The informal European Council meeting will focus on European security and defense policy, as well as support for Ukraine. Leaders will discuss the White Paper on European Defense Readiness 2030, which aims to strengthen the EU's defense capabilities, particularly along its eastern border. Discussions will also cover long-term support for Ukraine, security guarantees, and additional measures to increase pressure on Russia.

On the second day of the visit, the EPC meeting will address key European security and defense challenges, migration, and issues of energy and economic security. The President will take part in a roundtable discussion on "Security and Resilience - Traditional and New Threats." Around 50 European leaders, together with representatives of EU institutions and international organizations, are expected to attend.

Bilateral meetings are also planned during the visit.
