Laredo, TX - October 19^th, 2026 - Barnes & Noble is pleased to announce the Grand Opening of its new Laredo, TX bookstore on Friday, October 23^rd.

The bookstore first opened its doors at the end of September for a soft opening. This was, as it happens, the least soft opening in the history of Barnes & Noble: over 700 people visited the new store on its first day. The new store has remained extraordinarily busy, during which time the finishing touches have been made to the store. It is now ready for its Grand Opening.

The new Laredo, TX Barnes & Noble is located in Mall del Norte (5300 San Dario Ave Suite 240 Laredo TX 78041), formerly occupied by Forever 21. It is situated on the mall's west side facing the northbound 35 side, between Main Event and TruFit Athletic Clubs. The new Barnes & Noble spans an impressive 19,000 square feet and will offer a comprehensive selection of books, toys, games, magazines, gift items, vinyl, a Barnes & Noble Café and more.

Laredo Barnes & Noble bookstore will host a ribbon cutting at 11AM central on Friday the 23^rd with local author Sofia Segovia. She will then sign copies of her acclaimed book, The Murmur of Bees. The LEGO Minifig costume character will also join the festivities and host special storytime events over the weekend.

The bookseller has transformed its business over the last 5 years, with highly decentralized freedom given to each of its bookselling teams to curate their own store as they judge best. The result has seen Barnes & Noble grow sales strongly, and open over 200 new stores since 2023. In Texas, Barnes & Noble has now opened 20 new bookstores since 2023, with in South Texas the Laredo store joining a new store in Brownsville.

Barnes & Noble Premium and Rewards Members will earn double stamps on all purchases made between October 23^rd and Sunday the 25^th. Customers who are not yet Members are encouraged to sign up and start earning stamps and rewards right away.

Everyone who visits the new Laredo Barnes & Noble during the grand opening will have access to exclusive deals, like $50 off any NOOK device. Customers can also save 40% on all DVD, Blu-ray, and 4k Ultra HD movies.
