ITN is pleased to announce that Rhona de la Mer has been appointed as its new Director of Corporate Communications. Rhona will join from the BBC, where she is Senior Head of Communications.

Rhona will work closely with Chief Executive Rachel Corp and will join ITN's Senior Leadership Team. She will lead corporate communications across the business, overseeing media relations, corporate reputation, internal communications, brand and stakeholder engagement, and will play a central role in shaping how ITN tells its story and strengthens its profile across the industry.

In her current role, Rhona leads the BBC corporate press office and local news teams. She is responsible for communications across major corporate priorities, advises executives across the BBC and acts as a senior media spokesperson.

Her role oversees communications for the BBC's Annual Report and Accounts, BBC impartiality and editorial reviews. Alongside this, she has led publicity for some of the BBC's best known programmes, and managed BBC News spin rooms during the 2024 general election.

Earlier in her career, Rhona held roles across government and the third sector covering media relations, marketing, digital and stakeholder communications.

Rhona will take over from Lisa Campbell, who is leaving ITN to take up a new role at BAFTA. Rhona will join ITN in the summer.

Rachel Corp, CEO of ITN, said: "Rhona is an outstanding communications leader with exceptional judgement and a deep understanding of the media landscape. She will bring strategic clarity, creativity and authority, and has a real instinct for how to tell an organisation's story in a confident and compelling way. I'm delighted she'll be joining us as we continue to strengthen ITN's profile and voice.

"I would also like to thank Lisa Campbell for the huge contribution she has made to ITN. Her leadership, creativity and commitment have had a lasting impact on the business, and we wish her every success in her new role."

Rhona de la Mer said: "It is a genuine privilege to join ITN and tell its story at a time when high quality, independent and impartial news for a range of audiences is needed more than ever. ITN's growing content offer also provides exciting new opportunities to communicate its proposition in the UK and internationally. I really can't wait to get started."
