Henderson City Hall to Celebrate Pacific Island Culture With ‘Siapo: Continuing a Samoan Legacy’ Art Exhibition

Explore One of the Oldest Samoan Cultural Art Forms on Display Now Through May 21

HENDERSON, Nev.(April 2, 2026) - The City of Henderson invites the community to explore the traditional Samoan art form of Siapo at Siapo: Continuing a Samoan Legacy, a FREE gallery exhibit on display now through May 21 at Henderson City Hall.

The exhibit explores the history and modern interpretations of Siapo, one of the oldest Samoan cultural art forms, featuring local artist Kuulei Jakibczak alongside work from current Liberty High School students.

The community is also invited to a special opening reception, "A Night of Pacific Island Culture," to celebrate the exhibit on Saturday, April 18, from 5 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. The evening will include a meet-and-greet with the artists, live Hawaiian music by Gary Halaemau and Kawili, traditional Samoan dance performances by Te Matahi Polynesia, refreshments and more.

Siapo: Continuing a Samoan Legacy is open to the public at Henderson City Hall (240 S. Water St.) during regular business hours (Monday- Thursday, 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.).
