Rep. Katie Dempsey Serves as Guest Speaker at FODAC Event, Celebrates Organization’s Impact

ATLANTA - State Representative Katie Dempsey (R-Rome), chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Human Resources, recently served as a guest speaker at the Friends of Disabled Adults & Children (FODAC) 40^th Anniversary event.

"I was grateful to join FODAC and serve as a guest speaker at its 40^th anniversary celebration," said Chairlady Dempsey. "FODAC provides critical accessibility, mobility and independence to individuals and families across Georgia, our nation and beyond, often when those services are needed most. As chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Human Resources, I have had the privilege of working with FODAC and seeing their invaluable contributions to our state firsthand. I look forward to continuing our partnership and doing everything we can to support FODAC and its mission."

For more than 35 years, FODAC has leveraged a network of volunteers and partners to provide the equipment and services that create a better quality of life for adults and children with disabilities.

Founded in 1986 by Ed and the late Annie Butchart, FODAC began by collecting and repairing home medical equipment in their garage for individuals in need. Today, the organization provides refurbished home medical equipment and services to children and adults with disabilities, helping improve mobility, independence and quality of life.

FODAC operates three locations in Tucker, Savannah and Griffin and is supported by a network of volunteers and partners. The organization's mission is to glorify God by enhancing the quality of life for those who are mobility-impaired due to any physical disability, illness or injury.
