We're proud to celebrate a significant professional milestone for one of our own.
Congratulations to Alana MacLellan-Bonnell, P.Eng., MScFPE, on being named a 2026 Fellow of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) - one of the profession's highest honors, recognizing significant professional accomplishments and dedicated service to the fire protection engineering community.
With almost 30 years of experience, Alana brings extensive expertise in fire and life safety code consulting, alternative compliance solutions and building assessments for both new construction and existing buildings and facilities. Her deep knowledge of building and fire codes and international standards has helped address complex compliance challenges while advancing fire safety.
As a Team Leader at Jensen Hughes, Alana plays an important role in delivering technical expertise and supporting clients as they navigate complex fire and life safety requirements. Her leadership extends beyond project work through her 16 years of contributions to the development of Canada's building and fire safety codes as Past Chair of the former Standing Committee on Hazardous Materials and Activities that is responsible for the National Fire Code of Canada. Alana continues to give back to the industry as a Board of Director for the inaugural SFPE Canada and is a Member of the Research, Technologies, and Methods Committee of SFPE International.
Alana's recognition as an SFPE Fellow reflects her longstanding commitment to technical excellence, industry leadership and advancing the fire protection engineering profession.
