Ellabell, Ga. - To serve the growing communities and workforce around the I-16 corridor, St. Joseph's/Candler today dedicated a new six-acre campus in Interstate Commerce Park.
The St. Joseph's/Candler Black Creek Campus is uniquely placed to open more medical access to residents and workers along the Interstate 16 corridor. The project will be constructed in two phases and built out over a multi-year period to create a 40,000-square-foot, multi-story, advanced medical facility.
As phase one of the campus opens, it will house urgent care, occupational medicine and will have available space to expand into primary and specialty services in the future. Building One will also be home to the Development Authority of Bryan County.
The total estimated cost of this phase of the project is $10 million.
"St. Joseph's/Candler is committed to providing easy access to health care services for patients in the region," said Paul P. Hinchey, President & CEO of St. Joseph's/Candler. "This new Black Creek Campus is designed to address the evolving needs of north Bryan County which is expected to see explosive population growth in the coming years. St. Joseph's/Candler is excited to add this new campus, allowing patients and businesses access to a SJ/C facility within a short drive."
This new medical campus is part of St. Joseph's/Candler's commitment to expanding healthcare access to where people live and work. The majority of healthcare services today can be accomplished outside of the main hospital walls, so St. Joseph's/Candler is making it easier for patients to see doctors and other medical professionals.
In addition to the healthcare offerings, the Development Authority of Bryan County will occupy 2,300 square feet.
"St. Joseph's/Candler continues to bring top-notch healthcare to the citizens of Bryan County with the addition of their Black Creek Campus. We know that quality healthcare access is critically important to the future growth of neighborhoods and businesses in the area," said Ryan Purvis, CEO, Development Authority of Bryan County. "We'd like to thank St. Joseph's/Candler for making the vision a reality and for creating space for the Development Authority of Bryan County on their campus. SJ/C is a great partner of the development authority."
