Orwell Man Found Guilty of Lewd or Lascivious Conduct With a Child

Following a one-day trial, an Addison County jury has found Cory Laduc, 24, of Orwell, Vermont, guilty of one felony count of Lewd or Lascivious Conduct with a Child. The verdict was delivered yesterday in Vermont Superior Court, Addison Criminal Division; Judge Alison Arms presided over the trial. The charge brought against Mr. Laduc was the result of a criminal investigation conducted by the Vermont State Police, New Haven Barracks and facilitated by the Addison County Unit for Special Investigations.

In light of the verdict, Attorney General Charity Clark offered the following statement:

"I am grateful to the jury for their careful consideration of the facts in delivering this verdict and to our law enforcement partners in Addison County who assisted my office in bringing this case forward."

After the verdict, Mr. Laduc was continued on conditions of release issued prior to sentencing. The charge of Lewd or Lascivious Conduct with a Child carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.
