MyEdSpace, a leading online education platform on a mission to change the education system and deliver world-class learning to children everywhere, has raised $15 million in a Series A financing as it plans to expand - hiring more teachers, introducing new subjects, and building out AI-powered learning tools.
Orrick advised MyEdSpace on the round, led by White Star Capital with participation from Educapital, Emerge, Active Partners and Coalition Capital.
MyEdSpace was founded by Kharis Yanakidis and Sean Hirons in 2022 with the aim to provide affordable, high-quality teaching online to students.
The company's platform provides live online lessons, personal mentors, homework, revision materials and workbooks, focusing on Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English for students aged 9-18 in the UK.
The company will be launching its first US-focused Mathematics course starting in October.
The company will use the investment to hire more teachers, introduce new subjects and build out AI-powered learning tools.
Since launching in 2022, MyEdSpace has supported more than 16,000 students. In 2025, 51% of its GCSE Maths students achieved grades 7-9, more than triple the national average.
Sean Hirons, co-founder of MyEdSpace, said: "We set out to combine the best teachers, leading technology, and the power of social media to build a platform that delivers the education that young people want and deserve. Our model makes learning affordable and ends the postcode lottery of achievement. With this funding and the support of our investors, we can take the next step in making world-class education available to every child in the UK, and now in the US. It brings us one step closer to being able to provide free access for every UK child on free school meals, which we set as a long-term company goal."
Ed Dyson and Stephen Tallon led the team that advised MyEdSpace, with support from Harry Wilson, Viv Holyoake, Katy Short, Saffron Torrance and Aimun Sohail.
