Long Beach, CA - The City of Long Beach Community Development Department (Department) will host Planning for Housing: An Open House to share information on housing production efforts and rezoning projects in Long Beach. The event will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Billie Jean King Main Library Meeting Room A (200 W. Broadway).

The open house will showcase current efforts to increase housing supply, access and affordability in Long Beach through the Department's Planning Bureau. The event will also include the third installment of the Housing and Homelessness Opportunities, Mobilization and Engagement (HOME) Community Roadshow, an initiative from the City's Office of Homeless Strategy and Partnerships to host community engagement events around Long Beach that foster open dialogue around housing, homelessness and the City's ongoing efforts to address these critical challenges.

During the open house, attendees will have the opportunity to view interactive poster displays, ask questions and speak directly with staff from the Department's Planning Bureau, Building and Safety Bureau and Housing and Neighborhood Services Bureau, as well as the Office of Homeless Strategy and Partnerships. Feedback collected during the event will help guide the City's housing policy work, which supports the goals of the certified Sixth Cycle (2021-2029) Housing Element and ensures alignment with state housing mandates. This event is part of the City's ongoing commitment to equitable, inclusive housing policies that address the diverse needs of Long Beach residents.

Interpretation services in Spanish, Khmer and Tagalog will be available upon request at [email protected]. Pre-registration is not required but highly encouraged at lbcd.info/planningforhousing.

More information about the upcoming open house and the City's housing policies is available online at longbeach.gov/housingpolicies.
