Commissioner Causey selects Price as senior deputy commissioner for company services

Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced that he has appointed Jessica Price as senior deputy commissioner of the Company Services Group at the Department of Insurance.

The Company Services Group includes the Department's Financial Analysis Division, Financial Examination Division, and Financial Oversight and Special Entities Division.

"Jessica has been a loyal and outstanding public servant in her 15 years overseeing insurance financial analysis at the Department of insurance," Commissioner Causey said. "She has a strong background in the financial analysis of insurance companies. She is a strong and highly efficient leader."

Price has a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance from Lenoir-Rhyne University. She is a certified public accountant and a certified financial examiner. She has a professional in insurance regulation certification from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.
She joined the Department of Insurance in 2011 as a financial analyst and later became senior financial analyst before becoming deputy commissioner and chief financial analyst.

Before joining the Department of Insurance, Price worked for more than four years as a tax auditor at the N.C. Department of Revenue. She also has a year of experience at a regional North Carolina CPA firm.
