Cary, N.C. - A 280-foot-long pedestrian bridge will be delivered, erected, and installed over Black Creek along the north side of NW Cary Parkway starting next week. This bridge will improve pedestrian/bike access and safety to North Cary Park, neighborhoods, and Black Creek Greenway.
Cary Parkway will be closed at the bridge over Black Creek between Norwell Blvd and Hampton Lee Court beginning at 10 a.m. on July 21 and lasting approximately seven days. Expect intermittent lane closures for the week before and after the closure as materials are being delivered to the construction site. To ensure the safety of both drivers and construction crews, motorists are urged to follow posted detour signs, reduce speed in work zones, and remain alert for shifting traffic patterns.
During the road closure, traffic will detour to Norwell Blvd, Weston Parkway, and Harrison Avenue. However, access to Beechtree Drive, Silverberry Court, Westover Hills Drive, Skipwyth Circle, Hempstead Court, Heathmoor Lane, and Hampton Lee Court will be allowed from Harrison Avenue.
